Stronger Together — Small but Mighty, Made in Canada

Home was never a place

I grew up in a military family. We moved. A lot.

More times than I can count before I even became a teenager. Different houses. Different schools. Different cities. Different countries.  Always the new kid. Always starting over.

And here's what I learned through all of those moves, all of those hello's, all of those goodbyes, all of those moments of being the outsider: Home isn't a location on a map. Home is the feeling of belonging you create, wherever you are.

I never felt truly at home anywhere we were deployed. But I learned something even more important.  I learned that connection is what makes us feel like we belong. Kindness is what bridges the gap between stranger and friend. And love? Love is the compass that guides us home to each other.

When you've never had the luxury of staying in one place, you learn that people, not places are what matter most.

That's why I created Make Love Your Compass®. Because I know what it feels like to be on the outside. And I know how powerful it is when someone chooses to see you, include you, welcome you.

Bringing people together has always been my mission

Since I was that small girl moving from place to place—over and over and over again, my heart has carried one unwavering truth: we're better together.

Not just the people who look like us, think like us, or live near us. All of us.

It's about showing up with kindness when the world feels heavy. It's about choosing compassion over competition. It's about building community, one genuine connection at a time—whether you're meeting someone across the street or across a border.

Small acts of kindness ripple outward. A smile to a stranger. A word of encouragement to someone who's struggling. Choosing to see the humanity in everyone we meet, even when it's hard.

When you've been the new kid more times than you can count, you learn that those small acts? They're everything.

That's what being small but mighty really means.

Love and everyday kindness don't check passports

Here's something I need to say, especially right now: Kindness still exists everywhere.

Yes, I'm proudly Canadian. I love our values of inclusivity, compassion, and unity. But those values? They're not exclusive to one country. They're human values.

There are still beautiful, kind-hearted people in every corner of this world, including our neighbors to the south. People who are choosing love over fear. People who are standing up for compassion. People who are just as committed to making the world better as we are.

When the world tries to divide us by borders, politics, or differences, we get to choose differently.

We get to remember that the person across the border, across the aisle, or across the street is still a person. Still worthy of kindness. Still deserving of compassion. Still searching for that feeling of home and belonging, just like I was as a little girl moving from place to place to place.

That's not naive. That's brave. And it's exactly what the world needs more of right now.

Proudly Canadian, globally compassionate

I'm proud to be Canadian. I'm proud of the values we stand for. And I'm equally proud to extend those values beyond our borders—because that's what real compassion looks like.

Growing up in a military family taught me that borders are just lines on a map. What matters is how we treat each other when we cross them.

Our Proudly Canadian tee celebrates where we come from and the values we hold dear. But Make Love Your Compass®

That's for everyone who believes that love is the answer.

Whether you're in Vancouver or Vermont, Toronto or Texas, Calgary or California—if you're choosing kindness, if you're building bridges instead of walls, if you're making space for others to feel like they belong—you're part of this movement.

You're helping create home for someone else.

Your invitation

So here's what I want you to know today: You don't have to be big to make an impact.

You just have to show up. With heart. With intention. With love as your compass.

And when you do that, when you choose to see the good in people, when you extend kindness across every border and boundary, when you help someone else feel like they belong, you become part of something bigger than geography, bigger than politics, bigger than division.

You become part of the solution. You become home for someone who's still searching.

Small but mighty? Absolutely. And together, across borders, across differences, across everything that tries to divide us we are changing the world.

One act of kindness at a time. One connection at a time. One heart at a time.

Because that little girl who moved more times than she can count and never felt at home? She grew up knowing that we create home for each other when we choose love.

And that's exactly what we're doing here.

With love,Make Love Your Compass®
